California Pizza Kitchen Gets a New Menu

We were recently invited to try the new menu at California Pizza Kitchen (CPK). Here's a sneak peak into the recent additions.

Our favourites were the Black Bean Quesadillas and the Chicken Caesar Sandwich in Cheese bread. The Waldorf Salad, although colourful, missed the crunch! The Lettuce Wrap was tangy and delicious and would've tasted better if it was slightly warmer. Surprisingly, we were disappointed with the pizzas and would suggest our readers to stick to the classics and not experiment with the new additions.

We loved the fact that all the dishes were served with sides, either salad, fries or dips. Overall, we appreciate CPK's attempt to try out something new, we love their inhouse baked breads (that are also for sale) and the fresh ingredients used in all the dishes!

Review: Dolce Vita

We recently dropped in at Dolce Vita, The World Food Store, located at High Street Phoenix.
The restaurant is divided into various sections, with the food store, cafe bar, meat shop and wine cellar. The food store section is stocked with a range of gourmet foods on offer, international flavoured teas, cream cheese, frozen foods, ready to make bakes, candies and lots more. There is a display of cheese,  desserts and wines in the cafe bar.

We soon got a table for ourselves and browsed through the menu. The menu offers global cuisine, with something from every part of the world. They also have a couple of promotional offers; the Classic Afternoon Tea offer was what we decided to try.

An offer for two people, it comprised of unlimited tea or coffee, an assortment of sandwiches, desserts and scones with clotted cream and homemade jam. The Coronation Chicken sandwich was delicious and among the desserts, the mocha cheesecake was to die for! The homemade cherry jam had a hint of rum in it and went perfectly well with the scones. This offer was undoubtedly a steal for the price and we totally recommend it.

Will we come back here? Most definitely, to try out the other offers and a la carte offerings!

Store Review - Zara, Mumbai

Yes, finally the prayers of us, Mumbaikars, have been answered. The brand Zara opens it's first fashion outlet at Palladium Mall in Phoenix Mills. A little birdie had informed me that this new outlet in Mumbai is going to be one of the most expensive outlet in the world. And as I stepped into the store I expected it to be crowded with window shoppers. But surprisingly, there were women, men and children, stocking up their shopping carts like there's no tomorrow. A glance at the fitting rooms and the cash counter actually got me worried, cause the queue seemed never ending.

And these shoes, are certainly on my wishlist! Don't you dare eye 'em!

What you should look out for: Ladies, the shoes are going to make you go bonkers! They start at about 2k and go higher. You'd love the stilletos and wedges. The tops start at Rs 700 and go upto 3k and higher. Dresses start at Rs 1.5k.
Men, you should totally check the blazers and fedoras out. They are absolutely stunning!
Lastly, the adorable swim suits and frilly skirts will totally make your children look like angels!

Overall, Zara is not overpriced for sure but if you plan to go there, make sure your pockets are full :)
Zara, welcome to Mumbai!
